Before & After: A Stunning Landscape Transformation in Lexington Settlement, Missouri City, Texas

When we first stepped into this Lexington Settlement yard last year, we saw potential waiting to be uncovered. The space had great bones but needed a refresh to enhance its beauty and functionality. Fast forward to today, and this landscape has fully matured into a lush, inviting retreat!

The Before

The original landscape was functional but lacked the vibrancy and layered design that make a front yard stand out. Sparse plantings and an undefined structure left the space feeling underwhelming. Our goal was to bring in a mix of textures, colors, and seasonal interest to create a cohesive and welcoming entrance.

The Installation Process

The After – One Year Later

Now, a year later, the transformation is remarkable! The once-sparse garden beds are now filled with thriving plants, offering a lush and dynamic look. The thoughtful plant selection ensures there’s always something in bloom, while the evergreens provide structure even in cooler months.

Todd Farber is a Houston native and a 1991 horticulture graduate of Texas A&M University. He founded Garden Guy to focus on beautifying and changing residential landscapes across Houston. With decades of hands-on expertise, Todd brings a deep knowledge of Gulf Coast gardening and a love for native and adaptive plants.

Sabrina Farber, originally from Indiana, holds a BA in Mass Media and Speech from Houston Baptist University (1995). As Marketing Director of Garden Guy, she handles scheduling and social media while sharing Todd’s passion for gardening. A two-time cancer survivor, Sabrina values faith, family, and meaningful connections—both in life and in the landscape.

Together, Todd and Sabrina have been married for 30 years and have five children. Since 1995, they’ve been changing Houston one yard at a time.
